The Opportunity
Join our 2027 Graduate Programme as a Graduate Sustainability Consultant in either our Birmingham, Bristol or London office. As a key member of our team, you will help deliver sustainable projects that benefit communities, the planet and society. You will support a diverse range of organisations—from local authorities and universities to masterplan developers and asset managers—as they develop strategies for decarbonisation and a net-zero future.
About The Role
As a Graduate Sustainability Consultant, you will play an active role in embedding sustainable design and net-zero strategies across high-profile developments. Working alongside our experienced sustainability leads, you will gain hands-on experience across the entire building and infrastructure lifecycle—translating complex environmental targets into practical, actionable solutions for our clients and project teams.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the delivery of BREEAM projects (with support from senior team members), as well as conducting Part L compliance, Energy Strategies, and Life Cycle Assessments (LCA).
- Reviewing project details to establish ambitious sustainability targets and evaluating project documentation to monitor progress and provide technical feedback.
- Effectively communicating sustainability requirements and net-zero goals to both internal multidisciplinary teams and external clients.
- Producing clear advice reports for clients and attending site visits to inspect progress against agreed sustainability targets.
- Assisting senior colleagues in preparing bids and proposals for new work.
We are committed to supporting your professional development through a structured progression plan, mentoring and relevant training. Depending on your chosen career pathway, you may work towards professional registration such as Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Chartered Scientist (CSci), through an appropriate licensed professional body. You may also have opportunities to pursue specialist credentials relevant to sustainable building design and assessment, such as BREEAM Assessor or BREEAM Accredited Professional (BREEAM AP), where these align with your role and project experience.
Your Impact
In this role, your daily work will directly contribute to driving down carbon, enhancing building performance, and creating resilient, future-proofed developments. By guiding clients toward meaningful decarbonisation and net-zero outcomes, you will help leave a lasting positive legacy for urban environments and the communities that use them.
