We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist Ventilation, Heating and Chilled Water Testing & Balancing company that works alongside some of the UK’s leading Mechanical & Electrical contractors.

Following the award of a number of new contracts, they are looking to recruit several experienced Pre-Commissioning Engineers based across the Midlands.

The company works on a wide variety of projects throughout the UK, although the majority of sites are accessible from a Midlands base.

The Role

Working as part of the Pre-Commissioning team, you will be responsible for carrying out cleaning, flushing, chlorination and associated water treatment works on a range of commercial and industrial systems.

Projects will include both new-build and existing sites, including hospitals, schools, commercial developments and other large-scale buildings.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Pre-commission cleaning of heating and chilled water systems
  • Flushing and cleaning of new and existing systems
  • Acid cleaning and associated pre-commissioning works
  • Acid descaling of plant and equipment
  • Remedial cleaning of existing systems
  • Fault finding and problem solving
  • L8 monitoring
  • BS6700 and L8 chlorinations
  • Working across large-scale commercial and public-sector projects
  • Completing site reports and documentation electronically via tablet
  • Liaising with site teams, M&E contractors and clients
  • Ensuring work is completed in accordance with relevant industry standards and procedures

Experience Required

Candidates should have previous experience within Pre-Commissioning, Water Treatment or Building Services and ideally have hands-on experience with:

  • Pre-commission cleaning and flushing
  • Heating and chilled water systems
  • Acid cleaning and descaling
  • Chlorination works
  • L8 monitoring
  • Remedial cleaning
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting
  • Large commercial building systems

You should be comfortable working independently on site and travelling to projects when required.
