Privacy policy

This explains what JobLot collects and why. Last updated September 2026.

What we collect

If you only search: nothing that identifies you. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and there is no third-party script on this site.

If you create a job alert: your email address and the filters you chose (categories, cities, keywords, salary floor, contract type). We store a sign-in session cookie once you sign in.

If you post a job: your name where given, company name, contact email address and the listing itself. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe — they never reach our servers.

Why, and on what basis

We use your email address to send the daily alert summary you asked for and to sign you in. That is on the basis of your consent for alerts, and of performing our contract with you for a paid listing. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

Alert subscriptions are kept until you delete them or unsubscribe. Sign-in links expire after 30 minutes. Records relating to a paid listing are kept for six years for accounting purposes.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from every email in one click, using the link in any alert email. You can delete individual alerts from your dashboard. To request a copy of your data or its deletion, email privacy@joblot.net and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU you may also complain to your data protection authority; in the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.

Cookies

We set two, both strictly necessary: one remembering whether you chose the UK or US site, and one holding your sign-in session if you have an account. There are no tracking cookies, so there is no consent banner.

Where data is held

On Cloudflare's network. Email is sent through Cloudflare Email Sending, and payments through Stripe; both act as processors for us.
