Are you a passionate Chef de Partie looking for a varied, permanent role with a great work-life balance?
We are working with a well-established educational organisation in Sussex to recruit a Chef de Partie to join their busy in-house catering team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who enjoys working with fresh, seasonal produce and wants to be part of a diverse catering operation. You'll work alongside the Head Chef across a range of catering outlets, providing high-quality food for students, staff and visitors, as well as supporting events, functions, conferences and hospitality services.
The Role
Based in the central production kitchen, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day catering operation. Alongside the main dining facilities, you'll also support a café operation serving students, staff and external visitors.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced Chef de Partie with at least two years' experience in a similar professional kitchen environment.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience working in a high-volume kitchen
- A relevant catering qualification or strong demonstrable experience
- A current Food Hygiene Certificate
- Good knowledge of food safety, allergens and dietary requirements
- Experience across a range of cuisines and cooking techniques
- A genuine passion for good food and fresh, seasonal produce
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A positive, customer-focused approach
- The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team
- Experience supporting or leading junior chefs would be advantageous
- Menu planning, costing or procurement experience would be beneficial
- A full UK driving licence
Most importantly, you'll be passionate about delivering a high standard of food and service and enjoy working in an environment where no two days are necessarily the same.
Hours & Benefits
- £33,600 per annum
- 45 hours per week
- Full-time, permanent position
- Five days over a seven-day rota
- Typically one weekend per month
- Shifts generally around 7am-5pm or 8am-6pm
- 26 days' annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
- Up to 5 additional efficiency closure days over Christmas
