Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our growing team. In this role, you will perform welding and fabrication work on carbon and stainless steel components using .045 wire. Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel using .045 wire.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
• Measure materials and completed workpieces using tape measures and other measuring tools.
• Inspect finished welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to safely move materials and finished products.
• Assist with fabrication processes, including operating brake presses, drill presses, and other shop equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 6 months of welding experience OR an Associate Degree in Welding.
• Experience with MIG welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Strong measuring and layout skills, including the ability to accurately use a tape measure.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

Preferred

• Experience operating overhead cranes.
• Forklift experience or certification.
• Familiarity with brake press and drill press operations.
• Manufacturing or fabrication shop experience.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing shop environment that is not climate controlled, resulting in hot summers and cold winters. The team prides itself on maintaining a supportive, family-oriented atmosphere where hard work, teamwork, and a positive attitude are valued.

Shift Options

1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

2nd Shift: 3:30 PM - 11:50 PM

Overtime may be available based on production needs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Cedar Rapids,IA.
