Cnc Mill Operator

This role focuses on setting up, adjusting, and operating CNC Haas vertical mills (3, 4, and 5 axis) with Fanuc controls to produce high-precision aerospace and medical components. You will work with a wide range of stainless and exotic materials, maintain extremely tight tolerances, and ensure all work meets stringent industry standards. The position requires strong technical machining skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to perform initial quality checks directly at the machine.

• Set up, adjust, and operate CNC Haas vertical mills (3, 4, and 5 axis) equipped with Fanuc controls.
• Perform complete machine set-ups and offsets according to detailed blueprints and specifications.
• Hold and maintain tight tolerances of ±0.0001 on aerospace and medical components.
• Work with a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, Inconel, titanium, brass, and other exotic alloys.
• Calculate, adjust, and optimize feeds and speeds to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish on a variety of metals.
• Edit CNC programs at the machine using G and M codes as required to improve performance or correct issues.
• Perform initial in-process quality checks at the machine to verify dimensions and ensure compliance with ISO and ASQ standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, CNC programs, and operational layouts to set up and run parts correctly.
• Handle very small parts, including components as small as a fingernail, with precision and care.
• Understand tooling requirements and perform pre-setting of tools to support efficient machine operation.
• Collaborate with team members in a job-shop environment to meet production goals and maintain high quality standards.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working on the shop floor.

• At least 3 years of CNC mill set-up experience.
• Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC Haas vertical mills (3, 4, and 5 axis).
• Experience working with Fanuc-controlled machines.
• Ability to edit CNC programs at the machine using G and M codes.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and operational layouts.
• Capability to hold tight tolerances of ±0.0001 on precision components.
• Skill in calculating and adjusting feeds and speeds for various metals, including exotic alloys.
• Ability to perform initial quality checks and verify parts against specifications.
• Comfort working with very small parts, including components as small as a fingernail.
• Understanding of tooling requirements and pre-setting of tools for CNC mills.

• Live-tooling or multi-axis machining experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of tooling applications for exotic metals is a plus.
• Familiarity with ISO and ASQ quality standards for aerospace and medical parts.
• Experience working with multi-axis lathes and Swiss machines is beneficial, as the facility includes lynx, CHNC, Puma/Doosan, Citizen, and Tsugami equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented job-shop environment.

The shop floor includes multiple CNC machines, such as 13 lathes (including lynx, CHNC, and multi-axis Puma/Doosan), 10 Swiss machines (Citizen and Tsugami), and 7 Haas mills. The environment emphasizes precision, cleanliness, and safety, with modern equipment and organized workspaces. The dress code is casual, requiring closed-toe shoes, no shorts, and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.

This is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
