About the Role
Are you a caring, patient, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a committed EYFS Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you’ll play a key role in supporting young children’s learning, development, and wellbeing. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early years education and supporting children with SEN who wants to make a positive difference in their early development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive, and age-appropriate EYFS learning activities.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with SEN, helping them access learning and develop their confidence and independence.
- Support children with a range of additional needs, adapting activities and approaches to meet individual needs where appropriate.
- Assist children with communication, language, literacy, numeracy, physical development, and other areas of their early learning.
- Support children with social communication, interaction, emotional regulation, and sensory needs.
- Encourage children to develop their confidence, independence, social skills, and positive attitudes towards learning.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and participation.
- Support children with personal care, toileting, feeding, and other daily routines where required.
Requirements
- A genuine passion for supporting young children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build positive, trusting, and nurturing relationships with young children.
- A patient, calm, caring, and child-centred approach.
- The ability to support children with a range of needs and adapt approaches where appropriate.
- An understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
- A proactive, flexible, and adaptable approach to supporting children and staff.
- A commitment to inclusion and ensuring all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
