1:1 Teaching Assistant Sturminster Newton High School

We are seeking a caring, committed, and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a named child.

This role is a wonderful opportunity for someone passionate about education and making a positive impact on a child’s learning and development. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider staff to ensure the child feels safe, supported, and included in all aspects of school life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to a child, in line with their individual learning and care needs.
• Support the child’s emotional, social, and academic development in the classroom and during other school activities.
• Work closely with teaching staff and parents to implement and adapt learning strategies.
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with record keeping and observations as required.

Actual Salary £19,636 - £20,592 per annum (Grade 6, SCP 6-9) pay award pending.

This job is Term Time Only for 32.5 hours per week and 39 weeks per year. Fixed term until 31.08.2027

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements.

The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.
