Java Engineer (Equities)- London

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Java Engineer- Equities to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 12 with the potential to extend and will be a Hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking an experienced Java Engineer to join a front-office technology team supporting its Equities business. The successful candidate will work on the development and enhancement of real-time trading applications, combining strong hands-on Java engineering experience with a good understanding of equity trading workflows. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with technology teams and front-office stakeholders in a fast-paced trading environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and enhance Java-based applications supporting equities trading.
• Build scalable, resilient and high-performance solutions for real-time trading workflows.
• Develop new functionality and enhance existing trading platforms.
• Work closely with front-office stakeholders and technology teams to gather requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Diagnose complex production issues and implement robust, permanent fixes.
• Build, test and deploy software across development, QA and production environments.
• Contribute to application performance, scalability, stability and resiliency.
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing and performance tuning.
