Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable adults to rebuild their independence and move forward with their lives?

We are recruiting for a Housing Support Worker to join a busy homelessness service on a 3-month temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in housing, homelessness, supported accommodation, social care, or community support services who is looking to make a genuine difference.

The Role

Working within a supported housing environment, you will play a key role in helping residents sustain their accommodation and move towards independent living. The service supports adults who may have experienced homelessness, social exclusion, trauma, substance misuse, mental health challenges, or complex life circumstances.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building positive and professional relationships with residents.
  • Supporting individuals to develop independent living skills.
  • Assisting residents with benefit claims, budgeting, rent payments, and financial wellbeing.
  • Working alongside internal teams to help reduce rent arrears and tenancy issues.
  • Carrying out health and safety and compliance checks throughout the building.
  • Managing challenging situations and responding appropriately to incidents of anti-social behaviour.
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting residents through person-centred support planning.
  • Delivering support in a trauma-informed and strengths-based manner.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience within homelessness, housing support, supported accommodation, social care, mental health, or related services.
  • A good understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable adults.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour and difficult situations professionally.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
