The Role

MTS Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Technician to join a specialist aviation electrical workshop based in Southend.

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for the testing, repair and overhaul of a variety of electrical aviation components, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with manufacturers’ manuals, quality procedures and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test, repair and overhaul electrical aviation components in accordance with original manufacturers’ manuals and instructions.
  • Ensure quality standards and procedures are followed and maintained.
  • Maintain a safe and legally compliant working environment.
  • Prepare workshop reports and material reviews to support customer quotations and estimates.
  • Assist with introducing new repair capabilities and identifying ways to improve cost and turnaround times.
  • Undertake risk assessments and ensure all safety requirements are met.
  • Understand customer requirements and ensure these are met or exceeded.
  • Carry out additional duties within your capabilities as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within an electrical aviation environment is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar Electrical Technician role is preferred.
  • Understanding of aircraft component maintenance, repair and overhaul requirements within an EASA Part 145 environment.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and accurately record inspection findings.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office and business systems.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a safety-conscious approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
