We're recruiting an Accounts Senior for a leading accountancy practice in Exeter, working with a varied portfolio of SMEs, owner-managed businesses and private clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Senior or Practice Accountant looking for a varied role covering accounts preparation, tax, VAT, bookkeeping and advisory work, with excellent opportunities for career progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end statutory accounts
• Prepare corporation tax and personal tax computations
• Prepare and review VAT returns
• Produce management accounts, forecasts and financial projections
• Complete bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
• Analyse financial information and provide commercial insight
• Manage client work against budgets and deadlines
• Build strong, long-term client relationships
• Liaise with HMRC and other professional advisers
• Support and supervise junior team members

About You

• AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified or studying
• Previous accountancy practice experience
• Strong accounts preparation experience
• Good knowledge of UK accounts and tax
• Experience with VAT and bookkeeping
• Strong Excel and accounting software skills
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Organised with strong attention to detail
• Proactive, commercial and client-focused
