We're recruiting a Not-for-Profit Audit Assistant Manager to join a growing accountancy practice in Taunton.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA-qualified or part-qualified accountant with experience in audit or accounts who wants to develop their career within the charity and not-for-profit sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and review of charity accounts and independent examinations
• Support audits and accounts assignments from planning through to completion
• Prepare charity accounts in accordance with SORP
• Assist with specialist charity accounting, taxation and VAT queries
• Review work prepared by junior team members and provide constructive feedback
• Support Managers and Partners with more complex assignments
• Build strong relationships with charity and not-for-profit clients
• Assist with limited company accounts and tax compliance work where required
• Help manage workflow and ensure deadlines are met
• Coach and support trainees, helping develop their technical knowledge
• Contribute to ad hoc charity projects and specialist advisory work

About You

• ACA or ACCA qualified / part-qualified, or equivalent experience
• Previous experience in audit or accounts within an accountancy practice
• Experience or strong interest in the charity / not-for-profit sector
• Understanding of charity accounting and SORP desirable
• Strong attention to detail and technical ability
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines
• Passionate about developing a career within the not-for-profit sector
