We're recruiting a VAT Manager for a leading accountancy and tax advisory practice in Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced VAT professional to manage a varied client portfolio, deliver high-quality VAT advisory work and develop strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver VAT advisory and consultancy services to a varied client portfolio
• Manage VAT advisory projects from initial scoping through to completion
• Advise on complex VAT matters including land and property, international VAT, partial exemption and financial services
• Support clients with HMRC VAT enquiries, disputes and investigations
• Assist with VAT litigation and tribunal matters where required
• Prepare technical reports, advice and client correspondence
• Build strong and trusted client relationships
• Identify opportunities for additional VAT work
• Support business development, proposals and networking activity
• Work alongside wider tax and professional services teams
• Support and develop junior members of the VAT team

About You

• CTA qualified preferred, although relevant experience will be considered
• Proven VAT advisory experience within an accountancy or professional services practice
• Strong knowledge of UK VAT legislation and case law
• Experience dealing directly with HMRC
• VAT disputes or litigation experience advantageous
• Strong client relationship and communication skills
• Commercially aware with a proactive approach
• Experience contributing to business development
• Organised and able to manage multiple deadlines
• Keen to develop your technical and leadership skills
