We're recruiting an experienced Accounts Senior to join a growing accountancy practice in Newcastle.

This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT Level 4 qualified accountant or experienced practice accountant looking for a varied role working with SME clients, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

You'll take responsibility for preparing accounts, working directly with clients and supporting Managers and Directors with high-quality accounting services.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements for small and medium-sized limited companies
• Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders and partnerships
• Assist with VAT returns and outsourcing services
• Deal directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
• Prepare high-quality accounts files for Manager and Director review
• Work across both office and client-site assignments
• Ensure accounts are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
• Support clients with general accounting and financial queries

About You

• AAT Level 4 qualified or equivalent experience
• Previous UK accountancy practice experience
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation
• Experience working with Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
• Good understanding of VAT and year-end accounts
• Excellent client communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proactive, organised and commercially aware
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional and committed to delivering excellent client service
