Parts Advisor Apprentice - Vehicle Parts Operations (SCQF Level 6)

Reporting to: Head of VMU Operations - Corby

The Parts Advisor Apprenticeship offers hands-on-related workshop training and experience providing practical and on-the-job training. This position is delivered entirely in-house and gives learners the knowledge and practical experience to manage stock effectively, enhance customer service, and improve operational efficiency within our fleet.

Main objectives:

Based in our Corby VMU this role will offer the following:

  • The opportunity to work alongside highly qualified & skilled Technicians and to learn from their experience.
  • To be paid a competitive wage whilst gaining the practical skills, knowledge and experience required to gain a Level 6 qualification.
  • Develop into a confident, capable parts professional who will play a key role in our business success.

Mandatory covered units include:

  • Contribute to Housekeeping in Motor Vehicle Environments.
  • Reduce risks to health & safety in the motor vehicle environment.
  • Maintain working relationships in the motor vehicle environment.
  • Give vehicle parts operations customers a position impression of yourself and your organisation.
  • Follow procedures and identify and report security risks within a vehicle parts environment.
  • Select and issue motor vehicle parts.
  • Receive and store motor vehicle parts.
  • Process orders for non-stock motor vehicle parts.
  • Process payment transactions within a vehicle parts environment.
  • Stock control within a vehicle parts operation.
  • Participate in motor vehicle parts stocktaking activities.
  • Monitor and solve customer service problems and vehicle parts environment.

Candidate requirement:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age and not in full time education.
  • Must be able to follows instruction and guidance from mentoring colleagues retain instruction for future use, ask relevant questions and demonstrate a positive attitude to learning.
  • Must understand the Health & Safety requirements within the workshop and the importance of good housekeeping.
  • Must behave in a mature and professional manner in the workplace and demonstrate good attendance and timekeeping.
