Hull City Tigers Ltd have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head of HR to join and lead a small HR team at the MKM Stadium in Hull on a 12 month FTC. The successful candidate will work closely with senior managers across the organisation, overseeing and developing policies and procedures which will support the Club’s goals, whilst promoting a positive working culture for employees.

Contract Type: 12 month fixed term contract

Hours: Part time, 3 days per week, days to be confirmed

Salary: Competitive

Location: MKM Stadium, Hull, HU3 6HU

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage the full HR function for Hull City FC and SMC, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
  • Lead employee relations, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, redundancy, retirement and dispute resolution.
  • Advise managers on employment matters, workforce planning, restructuring, succession and staffing issues.
  • Manage recruitment support, Right to Work/visa requirements and DBS checks.
  • Oversee HR reporting, including staffing, absence, training and Board reports.
  • Maintain HR records and systems, including Oracle personnel files.
  • Manage training, development, apprenticeships and the Apprenticeship Levy.
  • Oversee appraisals, staff welfare, mental health awareness, first aid and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Liaise with payroll to ensure accurate salaries, bonuses and expenses.
  • Review and improve HR policies and processes to minimise risk and disputes.
  • Support HR colleagues and provide guidance on recruitment and HR processes.
  • Contribute to strategic HR projects, management meetings and the Safeguarding Steering Group.
  • Maintain relationships with external bodies including the EFL and FA, and represent the Club at industry events.
  • Champion communication, staff engagement and organisational culture.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork, initiative, professionalism and commitment to continuous development.
