We're recruiting an experienced Audit Senior to join a growing accountancy practice in Newcastle.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified ACA/ACCA accountant with audit experience who is ready to take responsibility for engagements and develop towards Supervisory Audit Senior or Audit Manager.

You'll lead audits from planning through to completion, work directly with clients and supervise junior team members across a varied portfolio of SMEs, owner-managed businesses, partnerships and sole traders.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for audit assignments from planning to completion
• Lead statutory audits across a varied client portfolio
• Identify key audit risks and develop appropriate audit procedures
• Execute and finalise audits in line with professional standards
• Attend client meetings throughout the audit process
• Liaise with Managers and RI's on technical and audit matters
• Supervise, coach and mentor junior audit staff
• Review audit work and provide constructive feedback
• Identify opportunities to improve audit processes and efficiency
• Maintain high standards of audit quality and regulatory compliance
• Manage assignments effectively against budgets and deadlines

About You

• ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
• Proven experience leading audit engagements
• Strong knowledge of audit procedures and regulatory requirements
• Good understanding of audit risk and internal controls
• Experience working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses
• Confident making decisions and communicating with clients
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Enjoy coaching and developing junior accountants
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Professional, proactive and commercially aware
