Barista / Café All-rounder

Hemma Social is a new family café and soft play space opening in East Village, Stratford, around 16–18 November 2026. We want a barista who makes very good coffee, welcomes families and helps keep service moving. Adults come for proper coffee and good food while children have a thoughtful place to play nearby. You will dial in and prepare consistent espresso drinks and other beverages; take orders and serve food; keep the bar, till and tables ready; and work with the café lead and kitchen prep lead during busy periods. You will follow cleaning, stock and opening or closing routines and help create the warm neighbourhood feel we want Hemma to have. We are looking for strong practical espresso skills in a commercial café, friendly and clear service, and a calm approach to queues. The opening rota is expected to be around 28–32 hours a week, mostly daytime, including some weekends. Paid pre-opening training is expected in early November. Base pay is £15–£16 per hour depending on relevant experience.
