Quantity Surveyor

Quantity Surveyor | Main Contractor | Leeds | £50k–£70k + Package

Looking for a Quantity Surveyor role where you can take ownership of your own projects and play a key part in a growing construction business?

We're recruiting for an established main contractor that's secured a number of new projects with repeat clients and is looking to strengthen its commercial team.

The role will have a particular focus on groundworks and civil engineering packages, so we're looking for someone with relevant experience who can manage the commercial aspects of projects independently.

The Role;

• Take commercial responsibility for projects from procurement through to final account
• Manage groundworks and civils packages, including subcontractor procurement and payments
• Produce CVRs, forecasts and regular commercial reports
• Manage variations, change control and contractual matters
• Work closely with site teams, clients and subcontractors
• Monitor project costs, identify risks and maximise commercial performance
• Negotiate and agree final accounts

What We're Looking For;

• Experience as a QS with a strong groundworks and civil engineering background
• Main contractor or specialist subcontractor experience
• Good understanding of subcontract procurement, valuations and cost management
• Strong contractual and commercial awareness
• Confident managing projects independently and dealing directly with clients
• Commercially minded with good negotiation skills
