Java Developer- London

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an AVP Java Developer to work for our client within the Banking & Financial Services sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.

Our client is looking for a skilled Java Developer to join their Electronic Trading Technology team, supporting business-critical trading platforms and market access solutions. Working closely with Front Office stakeholders, technology teams and infrastructure partners, you will contribute to the development, enhancement and support of low-latency trading systems used across the FICC business.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and support electronic trading applications and market access platforms.
• Deliver technology solutions that support front-office trading and electronic execution activities.
• Collaborate with traders, technology teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and implement strategic enhancements.
• Contribute to the design, development and deployment of high-performance trading applications.
• Work with market data and trading infrastructure platforms to ensure system availability and performance.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews and Agile development ceremonies.
• Support platform upgrades, integrations and ongoing technology improvements.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues, providing Level 3 support where required.
• Monitor application performance and contribute to performance optimisation initiatives.
• Work closely with global development teams to deliver scalable and resilient technology solutions.
