Passenger Assistant

Dorset Travel coordinate the transport provision for children and young people with additional needs within Dorset as well as out of county. The team also supply and support transport need for Mainstream, Child Care as well as Adults.

A Regular Passenger Assistant is required from the Ringwood Area contracted at approximately 18.50 hours per week, term time only commencing at £13.28 per hour.

The role of a Passenger Assistant is to support children and young people with additional needs providing assistance/support in maintaining a safe environment on the journey from/to home/school.

This vacancy is to support young persons serving Broadstone First and Middle School.

Candidates need to be available morning and afternoon to coincide with school opening and closing bell times.

Dorset Travel is looking for caring, flexible and responsible passenger assistant who have:

• Knowledge of moderate and complex learning needs.
• An understanding of safeguarding children.
• Recognition of a hazard and how to report.
• Customer Care

You must be physically fit with the ability to run, bend, stretch, push, pull, lift, carry and kneel to provide the care required for the position of a Passenger Assistant.
