Security Officer – 4 On, 4 Off Days and Nights

Location: Denham, UB9
Salary: £33,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Working hours: 12-hour shifts, working 4 on, 4 off across days and nights

We are recruiting an experienced Security Officer to protect the people, property and assets of a secure engineering facility in Denham.

This is a responsible, customer-facing position requiring strong situational awareness, professionalism and the confidence to respond effectively to security incidents and emergencies.

The Role

• Control pedestrian and vehicle access to the site
• Check identification, verify credentials and issue visitor passes
• Escort visitors when required
• Conduct regular internal, external and perimeter patrols
• Identify security risks, safety concerns and potential fire hazards
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies and distress calls
• Carry out thorough vehicle searches
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, radios and other security systems
• Maintain accurate daily logs and prepare detailed incident reports
• Manage vehicle movements and parking across the site
• Provide a professional and helpful first point of contact for employees and visitors
• Communicate security issues clearly to the Security Supervisor

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Security Officer or in a similar role
• Valid frontline SIA licence
• SIA Door Supervisor licence
• SIA CCTV licence
• Full, clean UK driving licence
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good knowledge of CCTV, alarm and radio systems
• Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts across days and nights
• Ability to meet the required security clearance standards
