Water Treatment Service Chemist / Engineer

Our client, an established Water Treatment and Water Hygiene company, is looking to recruit an experienced Water Treatment Engineer / Service Chemist to manage and service a portfolio of commercial and industrial sites across London and the South East

This is a varied field-based role combining hands-on Water Treatment engineering with service chemistry, water analysis and technical customer support.

The position would suit an experienced Water Treatment Engineer or Service Chemist looking for a role offering a good mixture of technical site work, customer interaction and ongoing career development.

The Role

• Carrying out routine Water Treatment servicing across commercial and industrial sites
• Sampling and analysis of closed heating and chilled water systems
• Cooling tower water analysis and monitoring
• Steam boiler water testing and analysis
• Carrying out chemical analysis including pH, conductivity, inhibitor levels and other relevant parameters
• Monitoring chemical treatment programmes and adjusting dosing where required
• Chemical dosing and system treatment
• Servicing and maintaining chemical dosing equipment
• Identifying corrosion, scale and microbiological issues within water systems
• Providing technical recommendations to improve system performance
• Closed system sampling in accordance with relevant industry guidance
• Producing detailed technical service reports
• Maintaining accurate site records and electronic documentation
• Liaising directly with clients, facilities managers and site engineers
• Identifying opportunities for remedial works and additional Water Treatment services

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience within the Water Treatment industry
• Experience working as a Water Treatment Engineer, Service Chemist or similar
• Good practical knowledge of closed systems, cooling towers and/or steam boilers
• Experience carrying out on-site water analysis
• Understanding of chemical Water Treatment programmes
• Knowledge of corrosion, scale and microbiological control
• Experience with chemical dosing equipment would be advantageous
• Good technical reporting skills
• Strong communication and customer-facing ability
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Chemistry, Science or relevant Water Treatment qualification would be advantageous
• Full UK Driving Licence
