We are seeking an organised and highly accurate Admissions Administrator to support admissions for a high-volume STEM outreach programme for students aged 14–18. The role combines applicant communications, data processing, course administration and systems support within a small, fast-paced team.
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £18.80 per hour + holiday pay
Key Duties:
- Manage and triage a high volume of admissions enquiries from students, parents and teachers
- Provide friendly and accurate information as a first point of contact for programme enquiries
- Support admissions data management using spreadsheets, forms and other systems
- Coordinate entrance assignment marking, collate scores and communicate results
- Support allocation of programme places and tutorial groups
- Monitor enrolment responses and maintain accurate applicant records
- Communicate allocations and programme information to students and tutors
- Set up students and tutors within Canvas, including appropriate course sections
- Support access administration for tutors, including resolving account and system access queries
- Provide wider administrative support during busy admissions periods and staff absences
Selection Criteria:
- Previous experience in admissions, student administration or course management
- Strong Excel and data management skills, including handling large and complex datasets
- Experience using Canvas and/or SharePoint desirable
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to track applicants accurately throughout the admissions process
- Ability to manage high volumes of correspondence and time-sensitive tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach
- Proactive and self-motivated, with ability to work independently within a small team
- Confident communicating through Teams, email and telephone
- Good understanding of data protection and handling sensitive personal information, particularly data relating to under-18s
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
