FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Product Owner / Scrum Master to work for our client within the Higher Education sector. This is initially a 6-month fixed term contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London, with an expectation of 2 days per week onsite.
Our client is seeking an experienced Product Owner / Scrum Master to join a high performing digital team supporting Product Managers across a portfolio of digital products and platforms. This role combines agile delivery leadership, product ownership support, stakeholder engagement and Scrum Master responsibilities across multiple product squads.
You will work closely with Product Managers, business stakeholders and technical teams to translate product strategy and roadmap priorities into actionable delivery plans. Acting as the bridge between product leadership and delivery teams, you will drive successful product delivery whilst establishing the structure, cadence and collaboration required for effective execution. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in fast paced environments and enjoys bringing clarity and leadership to complex digital programmes.
Responsibilities:
- Support Product Managers in delivering product strategy, roadmap objectives and agreed business outcomes across multiple digital products and platforms.
- Own and manage product backlogs, ensuring priorities remain aligned to organisational objectives and customer needs.
- Define and refine user stories, requirements and acceptance criteria to provide clear direction to delivery teams.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives and backlog refinement sessions.
- Drive stakeholder engagement across business, product and technology teams, ensuring priorities, risks and delivery progress are clearly communicated.
- Establish and embed strong Agile ways of working, promoting accountability, consistency and continuous improvement across squads.
- Remove blockers, coordinate dependencies and proactively manage risks to maintain delivery momentum.
- Track delivery metrics, sprint outcomes and team performance to improve predictability, efficiency and delivery confidence.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to understand technical constraints, delivery approaches and dependencies.
- Foster a collaborative and high performing team culture that encourages learning, transparency and shared ownership.
