Industrial Tooling Sales Rep - Grand Rapids, MI
DISHER is excited to partner with a trusted leader in delivering machine tool solutions for over 60 years. We are on the hunt for a motivated, self-driven, and relationship-focused Industrial Tooling Sales Representative to manage and grow an assigned sales territory.
What it's like to work here:
Their culture is built on collaboration, hustle, and humor: a down-to-earth, high-energy crew that works hard, supports each other, and celebrates wins big and small. With 20 machinery brands across six states, they're growing fast—but what sets them apart is how much they care about their customers, their people, and the quality of their work. If you enjoy variety, solving problems, and building lasting relationships, you'll fit right in.
What you'll get to do:
- Manage and grow an assigned sales territory focused on Indiana, Detroit, and broader Michigan, with openness to Ohio as the company continues to expand
- Work from the Grand Rapids office when not traveling, with approximately 2–3 days per week spent in the field visiting customers
- Handle primarily warm leads, building on existing interest rather than cold prospecting
- Develop new customer relationships through prospecting, networking, and follow-up
- Maintain and expand existing customer accounts through regular visits and relationship-building
- Recommend tooling solutions based on customer applications and manufacturing needs
- Provide technical support and product recommendations to help customers improve productivity
- Prepare quotes, follow up on opportunities, and close sales
- Coordinate with internal sales and operations teams to deliver excellent customer service
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity using CRM software
What will make you successful:
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Proven self-management and time management—this is a self-directed role where you'll run your territory independently after training
- A go-getter mindset with some sales exposure—sales experience matters more than the specific industry
- Comfort working independently and managing a sales territory, including your own customers and travel schedule after a structured training period (up to a year)
- Strong computer skills, including CRM usage
- Mechanical aptitude, a technical leaning, and the ability to learn technical products quickly
- Curiosity, dependability, and a coachable, eager-to-learn attitude
- A valid driver's license and comfort traveling in the territory Tuesday–Thursday each week, with Monday/Friday in the Grand Rapids office
- Experience with CNC tooling, cutting tools, industrial distribution, manufacturing, or industrial equipment is preferred but not required—we can teach the technical side
- Prior work travel experience is a plus
Applications are handled by Disher directly. JobLot never asks candidates for payment.
