Senior Safety Director

A leading transit system operator is looking to hire a Senior Safety Director in Philadelphia, PA. This role will be responsible for leading and overseeing the development of various corporate environmental, health and safety programs across the organization. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a industry leader with a commitment to building a world class safety program.

This position requires a daily presence at their Philadelphia Office and does not support remote or hybrid work currently.

The Role:

• Lead the execution of system-wide safety strategies and programs, with an emphasis on reducing employee and passenger incidents and improving operational performance.
• Take the lead in utilizing safety data, in order to provide reports, trends, analysis, subject matter expertise and recommendations for critical safety decisions across the organization
• Ensure the company is complaint with all regulatory requirements, working closely alongside agencies such as OSHA, EPA and NTA
• Take the lead with company-wide communications as it relates to environmental, health and safety, to help drive a shared culture or ownership and integrate safety into daily work activities of all employees
• Oversee a team of direct reports, establishing priorities, assigning responsibilities, developing staff, and ensuring departmental objectives are achieved

The Candidate:

• A minimum of 10-15 years EHS leadership experience ideally working in the transportation, transit or other regulated industries. Other industry experience will also be considered
• Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Compliance or related discipline (required)
• Strong verbal and written communicator across all business levels with key internal and external stakeholders
• Based near Philadelphia, PA and happy to travel to the corporate office daily
