Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Volunteer Coordinator administers the volunteer program, ensuring volunteers are effectively supported in their assigned roles. This position promotes the successful integration of volunteer services across departments by coordinating assignments, maintaining records, compliance requirements, as well as supporting communication, training, and recognition efforts. Specific program responsibilities vary by site and may encompass a range of community-facing, fundraising, educational, or service-oriented initiatives. The Volunteer Coordinator helps ensure operational efficiency by maintaining accurate documentation and reporting and collaborating with leadership to enhance and expand volunteer services in alignment with organizational needs.

Essential Job Functions

·Coordinate volunteer programs, including recruitment, screening, onboarding, training, scheduling, evaluation, and recognition of volunteers.

·Assign volunteers to appropriate departments to support patients, families, and staff.

·Maintain volunteer records, compliance requirements, and reporting metrics.

·Assist with budget stewardship, policy development, and continuous improvement of volunteer services.

·Support communication efforts through meetings, newsletters, surveys, and community outreach initiatives.

·Collaborate with leadership to ensure volunteer services align with operational goals and quality standards.

·Coordinate and support site-specific volunteer programs, which may include community engagement initiatives, fundraising events, retail operations, educational programs, or other mission-aligned activities, based on local needs.

Employment Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Public Relations, Business Administration, Management, or related field (preferred)

  • Previous work experience and/or training in a volunteer organization preferred.

  • 3 years related experience (required)

  • Previous experience in supervision and training (preferred)

Range: 

Minimum: $20.97

Maximum: $31.47
