Responsibilities

• Remove plastic pipe from extrusion machines and place or stack it neatly onto racks.
• Band and secure full racks of pipe so they are ready for safe forklift transport to scales for weighing.
• Perform visual inspections of pipe to identify defects, damage, or quality issues.
• Sort and load defective or scrap pipe onto designated scrap pallets according to site procedures.
• Handle and move materials throughout the production area in a safe and efficient manner.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and extrusion operators to support continuous production flow.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including removing debris and keeping aisles clear.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and use required personal protective equipment while working in a dusty, non-climate-controlled environment.
• Participate in forklift training and certification when offered and operate forklifts safely once certified.
• Support different levels of material handling responsibilities based on experience level (Material Handler 1, 2, or 3) and demonstrate readiness for progression into an extrusion operator role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift experience is a plus and may allow faster progression within the role.
• Willingness to obtain forklift certification provided by the company.
• Interest in learning the extrusion process and advancing into an extrusion operator position.
• Comfort working in a large manufacturing organization with multiple divisions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.60/hr.
