Environmental Director

Shirley Parsons is partnering with a leading energy distribution company to identify an Environmental Director who will play a critical role in shaping environmental strategy and compliance initiatives across a growing, multi-state operation. This person will be responsible for providing strategic oversight of spill response and environmental incident management, driving environmental due diligence for M&A activities, and directing complex remediation programs across active sites.

The Role:

• Develops and submits environmental permits, licenses, and regulatory applications and conduct facility audits and assessments to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Build and oversee a high-performing environmental team through talent acquisition, training, mentorship, and ongoing professional development.
• Monitors regulatory developments, evaluates their impact on the business, and implements compliance programs, procedures, and processes to meet applicable environmental requirements.
• Collaborates effectively with agency representatives, business partners, consultants, and cross-functional teams to advance environmental objectives and compliance initiatives.

The Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 12–15 years of experience managing environmental compliance programs, providing environmental consulting services, or an equivalent blend of education and relevant experience.
• Experience with air and stormwater regulations preferred.
• Proven experience leading and supervising an environmental team.
