This role focuses on the precise soldering and assembly of electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) that power a wide range of electronic devices. You ensure strong electrical connections, mechanical stability, and adherence to industry standards by following detailed assembly instructions, blueprints, and schematics. Success in this position depends on exceptional attention to detail, the ability to work with small and delicate components, and a commitment to delivering high-quality assembled PCBs that meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate soldering of electronic components onto printed circuit boards using both through-hole and surface mount technology (SMT), following detailed work instructions, assembly drawings, and blueprints.
  • Inspect solder joints and assembled PCBs for quality and compliance with industry standards using visual inspection and microscopic tools.
  • Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot assembly defects or issues, and perform necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure product quality and reliability.
  • Handle electronic components and hand tools safely, following established safety protocols and proper electrostatic discharge (ESD) practices.
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics, assembly drawings, and work instructions to complete assembly tasks correctly and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area to support safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and support continuous improvement in assembly processes.
  • Lift and move materials and equipment, as needed, up to 30 pounds in support of the production workflow.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in PCB assembly and soldering techniques, including through-hole and surface mount technology (SMT).
  • Proficiency in soldering and electronic assembly using hand tools and equipment appropriate for fine circuit work.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, assembly drawings, and detailed work instructions.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise soldering and handling of small, delicate components.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, fine circuit details, and tones for accurate component identification and inspection.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and proper handling of electronic components in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as part of regular job duties.
  • Reliable transportation to consistently arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Certification in IPC-A-610 or IPC J-STD-001 standards for soldering and electronic assembly is a plus.
  • Experience with surface-mount technology (SMT) processes and equipment.
  • Comfort using hand tools and wiring tools in an electronics assembly setting.
  • Ability to work overtime when required to support production demands.

Work Environment

You work primarily in a modern factory environment with controlled temperature, designed for comfort and consistent manufacturing conditions. The standard schedule is an 8-hour workday, 5 days per week, on first shift with start times of either 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with overtime available when required. The setting involves regular use of hand tools and electronic assembly equipment, careful handling of small components, and adherence to established safety and quality procedures. Reliable transportation is necessary to meet the shift requirements.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
