End of Line Technician – 2nd Shift

Job Description

The End of Line Technician on 2nd shift tests and validates chiller and controls products ranging from 150 to 550 tons to determine all aspects of unit performance. This role focuses on performance testing, troubleshooting, and quality investigations, while producing accurate test reports for specific unit types. You work hands-on with refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure units meet design and customer requirements before leaving the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform end-of-line performance testing on chiller and controls products ranging from 150 to 550 tons to verify all aspects of unit performance.
  • Conduct detailed troubleshooting of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical issues identified during testing.
  • Execute all testing requirements, including pressure testing, evacuation, and refrigerant charging in accordance with established procedures.
  • Carry out refrigeration performance testing to confirm capacity, efficiency, and operational stability.
  • Test electrical components to ensure proper function, safety, and compliance with specifications.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical installations required for test setups and unit validation.
  • Test design temperature difference (TD) at required waterflows and pressure drops to confirm units meet design criteria.
  • Build and configure test rigs and assist in developing and executing test plans for new or modified products
  • Be flexible and available for overtime, including at short notice, to meet production and testing demands.

Essential Skills

  • Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems, including pressure testing, evacuation, and refrigerant charging.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC product testing methods and procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools such as tape measures in a mechanical assembly environment.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative to complete tasks and solve problems.
  • Computer literacy and strong report writing skills to produce accurate and clear test documentation.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with office staff and shop floor personnel.
  • Ability to meet test requirements and project targets on time while maintaining data accuracy.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, including at short notice, based on operational needs.
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification.
  • Knowledge of Carel Controls and their application in refrigeration and HVAC systems.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grenada, MS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
