Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
The Machine Operator sets up and operates machinery and related production equipment while performing limited dimensional inspections to detect defects or equipment malfunctions. This role follows standard work instructions with precision, maintains a strong focus on quality and safety, and actively participates in certification and training requirements. The Machine Operator plays a key role in identifying non-conforming parts, recognizing high-risk process events, and ensuring consistent, high-quality output.
Responsibilities
- Operate punch press machines and support set-up personnel to ensure efficient and safe production.
- Perform machine operation and limited dimensional inspection to detect defects or equipment malfunctions.
- Follow all standard work instructions and company requirements without altering defined processes.
- Actively participate in and complete certification process training and requirements.
- Provide quality workmanship with great attention to detail throughout all production activities.
- Recognize and identify suspect and non-conforming parts and remove them from the process as required.
- Identify high failure risk process events and take appropriate action to prevent defects and downtime.
- Exercise the responsibility, authority, and obligation to stop the process if expected quality outputs are not achieved.
- Escalate issues to management if supervisors are not responsive to quality or process concerns.
- Feed steel into dies, fill press lubrication systems, and ensure lubrication type and levels meet specifications, as applicable.
- Assist in die change activities when needed to support production requirements.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility operating on a first shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Fridays are typically off, with occasional 5-hour shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as needed. The workspace is very organized, and you will have space to work independently on your own machine.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
