Technical Project Coordinator - Dyersville, IA or Greater Minneapolis, MN

DISHER is currently partnering with a recognized leader in providing North American businesses with engineering solutions, sourcing and supply chain development, and Asian market entry and start-up services. In this role, you will serve as the day-to-day technical link between the customer’s engineering and manufacturing teams and the engineering team in India. You will coordinate by gathering requirements, supporting design and manufacturing activities, managing technical communication, and helping to  resolve issues so engineering deliverables are accurate, practical, and production-ready.

This role may be either on-site in Dyersville, IA or in the greater Minneapolis, MN area.

What you will get to do:

  • Take initiative on customer issues: own the diagnosis, identify solution steps, and drive resolution forward as the mediator between customer needs and engineering resources
  • Translate across teams: clearly communicate requirements, design changes, production feedback, and open issues to engineers in India
  • Gather field data, photos, measurements, equipment specs, and redlines needed to move work forward
  • Coordinate design reviews, technical clarifications, drawing updates, BOMs, approvals, and engineering changes
  • Review drawings, models, schematics, P&IDs, panel layouts, and technical documents for completeness and manufacturability
  • Support troubleshooting during fabrication, assembly, testing, commissioning, and field service
  • Maintain project schedules, action lists, issue logs, deliverable trackers, and regular status updates across U.S. and India teams
  • Prioritize work based on urgency and impact; communicate clearly on what's blocking progress
  • International travel twice per year

What will make you successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, industrial, mechatronics, or related engineering field
  • 5+ years professional experience; at least 2+ years in similar engineering coordination, field engineering, or technical support role
  • Real manufacturing experience, ideally in HVAC or integrated systems
  • Proactive, independent problem-solver who asks: "How do I find the resources to close this as soon as possible?"
  • Drive to learn how systems work together—refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, controls—whatever it takes to solve the problem
  • Flexible, adaptable mindset; willing to pivot based on what the project needs
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, refrigeration piping diagrams, P&IDs, electrical schematics, panel layouts, and BOMs
  • Understanding of refrigeration/HVAC fundamentals, heat transfer, and fluid flow
  • Familiarity with CO₂, ammonia, halocarbon, chilled-water, rack, or chiller systems (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of electrical controls, ladder logic, PLC-based systems, VFDs, and panel wiring (preferred)
  • Basic SolidWorks experience
  • Strong mechanical and electro-mechanical aptitude; comfortable working on the floor and collaborating with production teams
  • Ability to ask the right questions and understand how components integrate into a complete system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication—clear, concise, and confident across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working with cross functional teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, project-tracking tools, and ERP/document-control systems
  • Ability to work independently at customer sites and coordinate across multiple teams and time zones
