Join Our Team as an Attorney at Axiom
We are seeking experienced Derivatives Attorneys and ISDA Negotiators to support financial services clients with complex trading, collateral, clearing, and financing documentation. This role is open to both licensed attorneys and experienced non-JD negotiators with a strong background in derivatives documentation and counterparty negotiations.
We have an immediate need for full-time and part-time talent with ISDA, CSA, repo, treasury clearing, and futures or futures agreement experience. Experience with equity derivatives is especially valuable. Opportunities are available nationwide, with a preference for talent based in New York.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating derivatives and trading documentation, including ISDAs, CSAs, MRAs, GMRAs, and MSFTAs
- Managing counterparty negotiations and documentation workflows
- Supporting documentation for futures, equity derivatives, prime brokerage, equity financing, repo, securities lending, and related trading products
- Advising on or supporting collateral, clearing, netting, and counterparty risk matters
- Supporting treasury clearing and related documentation needs
- Partnering with legal, business, operations, risk, and compliance stakeholders to resolve negotiation and documentation issues efficiently
Qualifications:
- Significant hands-on experience negotiating ISDA Master Agreements and Credit Support Annexes
- Experience with repurchase agreements, including MRAs and GMRAs; MSFTA experience may be considered for certain opportunities
- Experience with futures or futures agreements strongly preferred
- Treasury clearing experience strongly preferred
- Equity derivatives experience highly desirable; prime brokerage or equity financing experience will also be considered
- Netting expertise is a strong plus
- Strong negotiation, organization, communication, and project-management skills
- Ability to support full-time or part-time client needs; full-time availability is strongly preferred for ISDA negotiator opportunities
- A JD and active bar license are required for attorney roles; a JD is not required for ISDA negotiator roles
Compensation:
The estimated total compensation for full-time Axiom attorney roles is $104,500-325,000 per year and for non-attorney roles is $71,250-309,750 per year. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.
