Fabricator

This role in the mining department focuses on assembling, fabricating, installing, and troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components in accordance with production drawings, blueprints, specifications, and established company standards. The position suits someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while also following direction from supervisors and collaborating with team members.

• Read, interpret, and accurately follow production drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
• Follow verbal and written directions from supervisors to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
• Perform mechanical assembly, fabrication, installation, and related production duties for mining and heavy equipment components.
• Demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude and use common hand tools and layout tools safely and effectively.
• Accurately read and use a tape measure and other measuring devices to ensure precise measurements.
• Perform basic layout, measurement, fitting, and fabrication tasks to meet production requirements.
• Utilize basic electrical knowledge to assist with wiring, installation, troubleshooting, and work on electrical components.
• Utilize basic hydraulic knowledge to assist with hydraulic assembly, installation, routing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Perform fabrication tasks including cutting, fitting, drilling, grinding, and other related work as required.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, proper fit, and compliance with production drawings and specifications.
• Identify problems during assembly or fabrication and use critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to determine appropriate solutions.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy throughout the production process.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Work effectively as part of a team while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support production and departmental goals.

• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform mechanical assembly, fabrication, and installation tasks.
• Ability to read, interpret, and accurately follow production drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
• Proficiency in using common hand tools, layout tools, and measuring devices safely and effectively.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure and other precision measuring tools.
• Basic electrical knowledge to assist with wiring, installation, troubleshooting, and work on electrical components.
• Basic hydraulic knowledge to assist with hydraulic assembly, installation, routing, and troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions from supervisors and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Capability to perform fabrication tasks such as cutting, fitting, drilling, and grinding.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area and following all safety policies and PPE requirements.
• Dependable work habits, including punctuality and consistent productivity.

• 3–5 years of prior experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, manufacturing, mining equipment, heavy equipment, or a closely related field is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience working from blueprints and production drawings.
• Previous experience with hydraulic systems and electrical systems.
• Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
• Experience working with heavy equipment or industrial machinery is a plus.

This is a full-time, on-site role in a mining-focused production environment with a typical schedule of 5:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You will work around mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fabrication equipment, including cutting, drilling, grinding, and assembly tools. The facility emphasizes safety, requiring adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. The work involves hands-on fabrication and assembly of heavy and industrial components in a shop setting, where maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area is essential.

This is a Contract position based out of Hanford, CA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
