Job Title: General LaborerJob Description

As a General Laborer, you will be responsible for offloading inbound materials from rail cars safely and efficiently. You will connect conveyor systems to containers for unloading raw materials used in concrete production, transport these materials to silos for storage, and ensure proper handling of labels during unloading and transportation. This position involves regular handling of heavy materials, lifting up to 70–75 lbs multiple times within short intervals, and working comfortably in physically demanding conditions, including hot and dirty environments. Adherence to safety protocols is crucial while performing all unloading and transportation tasks.

Responsibilities

Work Environment

This position is based at a cement supplier's facility with continuous exposure to extreme heat, cold, noise, and outdoor conditions. Protective equipment is mandatory on site. You will work within a small team of 2-3 people to meet production goals. The dress code includes long pants, t-shirts, and steel-toe shoes. The hours are 1st Shift (7am-3pm/4pm) with potential training during the day shift before transitioning to night shift after a 45-day period. Candidates may be required to work overtime, averaging 10 hours per week, with potential for up to 30 hours during peak season.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
