Job Title: Forklift OperatorJob Description

This role involves operating a sit-down forklift throughout the shift to support warehouse operations in a high-volume environment. You will handle material movement, loading and unloading, and general warehouse tasks while working safely and efficiently. The position offers structured training during the first one to two weeks and a temp-to-hire path for individuals who demonstrate strong performance and reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently for the majority of the shift.
  • Load, unload, move, and stack materials and products within the warehouse.
  • Support material handling activities, including staging, organizing, and relocating inventory as directed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and warehouse guidelines while operating equipment and performing tasks.
  • Assist with unloading incoming shipments and loading outbound shipments as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around the forklift and warehouse zones.
  • Participate in training during the first one to two weeks to learn site-specific processes and safety practices.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate daily tasks and priorities.
  • Adapt to working in different areas of the building as assigned, which may include varying temperatures and conditions.
  • Demonstrate consistent attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic to support a potential transition from temporary to permanent employment.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated warehouse experience and tenure, with a strong track record of reliability and long-term roles.
  • Ability to perform material handling tasks, including loading, unloading, and moving pallets and products.
  • Capability to work full shifts on a sit-down forklift, maintaining focus and safety throughout the day.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and operational instructions accurately.
  • Willingness to complete initial training during the first one to two weeks of employment.
  • Flexibility to work either first shift (7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) or second shift (4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.), as assigned.
  • Ability to work in varying climate conditions, including cold, damp, or hot areas of the warehouse.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong overall warehouse tenure, with preference for candidates who have demonstrated long-term commitment in previous roles.
  • Experience with unloading trailers, trucks, or containers using a sit-down forklift.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate tasks with team members and supervisors.

Work Environment

This position is based in a warehouse facility where you will operate a sit-down forklift for most of your shift. You will work around active material handling equipment and ongoing loading and unloading activities, requiring constant attention to safety and awareness of surroundings. The setting is production-focused and fast paced, with clear processes and expectations supported by initial training during your first one to two weeks on the job.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $22.00/hr.
