Job Title: Production Technician – 2nd Shift (Granite Quarry)

Job Description

This role supports a granite quarry production operation by inspecting stone, operating and troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring high-quality output on 2nd shift. The technician reads production tickets, operates material handling and cutting equipment, and performs basic mechanical repairs while working safely in an industrial quarry environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect granite stone for quality, consistency, and appearance to ensure it meets production standards.
  • Read and interpret production tickets and blueprints to determine required work, dimensions, and profiles.
  • Use overhead cranes or similar lifting equipment to safely load and unload granite slabs onto machines.
  • Load pre-programmed profiles into production equipment and verify correct setup before operation.
  • Operate a wire saw and other cutting equipment to shape and cut granite according to specifications.
  • Use large hammers, pry bars, and related tools to position, adjust, and handle stone and materials.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and tools to minimize downtime.
  • Use a tape measure and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure accuracy.
  • Apply general computer skills to interact with machine interfaces and production systems.
  • Utilize software for CNC, milling, and/or turning machines, including 3D modeling, CAD, and/or CAM tools, as needed for programming and adjustments.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs on equipment and parts as issues arise.
  • Follow all safety policies, rules, and procedures while working in a quarry environment.
  • Participate in initial and ongoing training to understand company policies, rules, and production processes.
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, safety-focused culture on the production floor.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, repair, and fix production equipment and tools in an industrial environment.
  • Proficiency using a tape measure and other measuring tools with accuracy.
  • General computer skills to operate machine controls and related systems.
  • General knowledge of software used to program CNC, milling, and/or turning machines, including 3D modeling, CAD, and/or CAM software.
  • Good hand-eye coordination for safe and precise operation of machinery and tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience working with repair parts and technical equipment.
  • Comfort working in a construction or industrial services environment, preferably with exposure to quarry or heavy manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret production tickets and blueprints.
  • Capability to safely operate cranes, wire saws, and other heavy equipment after training.
  • Strong focus on safety and adherence to policies and procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in construction services, manufacturing, or quarry operations.
  • Experience with CNC, milling, or turning machines in a production setting.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling, CAD, and/or CAM software for machine programming.
  • Strong soft skills, including teamwork, communication, and a positive attitude toward culture and safety.
  • Willingness to participate in panel interviews focused on mechanical experience and cultural fit.

Work Environment

This position is based at an environmental granite quarry site, working primarily on 2nd shift from Monday to Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with additional hours as needed. The role involves working around heavy machinery, cranes, wire saws, and large granite slabs in an industrial outdoor and indoor setting. The company provides all necessary tools, so you do not need to bring your own. Steel toe shoes are required as part of the dress code for safety. The environment is remote, and employees are encouraged to bring their own lunch and drinks. Initial training takes place in an office setting to review policies and rules before transitioning fully to the quarry floor. A pre-employment drug screening is required to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
