Job Description

Looking for three project (short term for now but could go longer) welders for manufacturing facility in Santa Ana, CA. Pay will be $25 an hour and is a great position to get some hands on experience in welding. Ideally looking for candidates that have completed trade school for welding. This position offers a day shift from 5am to 1:30pm, with the possibility of overtime.

Responsibilities

• Safely and securely move required materials in and out of the welding area
• Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to tacking and welding using prescribed fixtures, clamps, and measuring tools.
• Operate manual aluminum and steel wire-feed welding equipment to properly join metal components within defined parameters.
• Examine work pieces for defects using visual inspection and measuring tools to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Monitor the welding process to avoid overheating of parts, warpage, distortion, or 'burning through' the materials.
• Detect faulty welding machine operation or defective materials and notify supervisors.
• Stack and secure finished parts on pallets prior to transferring to the assembly department.
• Ensure all counts of finished products are correct and marked with the order number or other identifying marks.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area.

Essential Skills

• Experience in MIG welding, blueprint reading, and fabrication.
• Knowledge and experience in safety requirements for operating and maintaining wire-feed equipment and material handling.
• Proficiency in assigned welding techniques and use of finish grinding tools.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings accurately.
• Working knowledge of fixturing, clamping, and weld set-up parameters such as volts, amps, and wire speed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ideally Basic fabricating aptitude with a 2-year technical school degree or 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of wire and filler materials for aluminum and galvanized steel.
• Ability to use and understand basic measuring instruments.

This is a Contract position based out of Santa Ana, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
